# 6. Hardware Layer (Industrial and Site-Based Reductions)

Measurement devices are designed to collect and sign data on energy savings and recovered resources, then record the data hash and a de-identified reference key on-chain.

### 6.1 Target Sites

Measurement covers Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased or acquired electricity, steam, heat and cooling) as defined by the GHG Protocol. The priority targets are **manufacturing plants** that meter electricity at the equipment level, **large commercial buildings** connected to a BEMS, and **resource recovery sites** that automatically identify and weigh recyclables.

### 6.2 Measurement Device Configuration

A measurement device consists of four components.

Because the private key is isolated inside the chip, signatures are difficult to forge even if the communication path is compromised. The verification contract is designed to reject data signed with an unregistered key.

### 6.3 Enterprise Workspace

Data produced by the measurement devices is designed to be aggregated in a web workspace for corporate administrators. The workspace is planned for release in Phase 2 (target: 2027; see Section 12.2).

The workspace is planned to offer real-time monitoring by site and by piece of equipment, anomaly alerts, and permission management by organizational level. It is also designed to generate an evidence report for a specified period, with an on-chain transaction hash attached to every figure.

### 6.4 Separating Hardware Revenue from the Token

Manufacturing, selling, installing and maintaining the measurement devices is a physical-goods business run by the operating entity, and payment for this work is settled under contracts denominated in fiat currency.

* No new VLX tokens are issued in order to sell hardware.
* Hardware revenue is not linked to the token price or to returns for token holders.
* Customers have no obligation to pay for equipment in tokens.

### 6.5 Phased Deployment Strategy

* Second half of 2026 (preparation) to 2027 · Pilot: at a small number of partner sites, compare direct measurements with existing estimation methods and verify the results
* 2027 onward · Standardization: set installation standards, calibration cycles and data schemas for each industry
* Once standards are set · Expansion: extend installation to more targets using the verified standards
